About the art:
During the last year of his life Van Gogh lived in Auvers, a commune on the north-western outskirts of Paris, France. Whilst living there Van Gogh created a number of paintings including ‘Bank of the Oise at Auvers’ which features a row of boats rendered in a range of colours. Three figures dominate the center of the scene, surrounded by green trees contrasting with the turquoise blue of the river.
