In the late spring of 1890, Vincent van Gogh painted a series of works in his beloved Arles, France. One of these works was titled "Green Wheat Fields, Arles," which portrayed a lush, rolling wheat field in his signature post-impressionist style. The painting shows the golden-green wheat in front of a backdrop of rolling hills and a bright blue sky. Van Gogh had moved to Arles in 1888, looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of Paris. He was inspired by the landscape, and had already painted a series of landscapes and still lifes in the area. His Green Wheat Fields painting was among his last works in Arles. He used a bright palette of greens and yellows, giving the painting a sense of life and energy. The painting was not well-received by critics at the time, but it has since become one of Van Gogh's most beloved works. It has been seen as a symbol of hope and renewal, and is often used to represent the beauty of nature.
